LitCrit is a literary community on deviantART. We exist for the purpose of giving critique on poetry and prose, and for improving the critical standard here. We want to give every author and poet the chance to truly shine to the full extent they are capable of.
Joining LitCrit is a simple, if slightly drawn out, process. The instructions are here. Joining will take an average of 48 hours, but may vary depending on our workloads and the amount of time it takes for messages to transfer. It IS a vital part of the membership process.
With three new members, dedicated tech support, and a contest, LC is getting too big to handle! Not really, but we are proud to feature ~argopelter, ~ CaptainQuirk, and *KrazyJellyBean within our membership showcase, and thankful to have *loryc running some support for us. Thank you all.
From time to time, we'll be holding contests. Winners will be given various prizes, as outlined at the beginning of the competition.
The first annual Picture This! competition is a simple one. LitCrit needs an avatar. Create a 50×50 avatar, animated or not, and the best one will be displayed for the next 12 months. Create it, upload it to your scraps, send us a note with the subject 'Picture This!' The winning avatar will be picked based on the content, originality, and best expression of the LitCrit message, and will be displayed starting on 1 January of the new year. Submissions are due by 25 December. Get to it!
It's so great to actually have membership now. And everything has to start somewhere, right?
Do you know any wonderful literary artists? We'd love to have them on the team. Spread the word. LitCrit is all about the written word and those who convey it.

Let's make critiques on here a wonderful thing. Spread the love, share the wealth, help your neighbor, and let's all improve.

*ahem* sorry, I had something in my throat that needed clearing.

I don't mean to offend you; I can't help having opinions AND a big mouth.
I like long walks on the beach; carcasses of dead marine life fascinate me.

These words, they are mine, and I give them to you.
These words, they are my life.
